Murder in Mexico – A Family Legacy of Death

by Jack

These particular Americans knew the danger, but they had faith that God would protect them in a land filled with violence.   They chose to live in the state of Sonora, Mexico about 70 miles from the US border, because they felt it was God’s will and for a time they prospered and all was well.

Oh, there were some jealousies among the locals because this enclave of Anglos, mostly from the LeBaron family, made a success on the land where the locals had failed. Despite the fact they have lived there for generations, they were considered outsiders.  Several locals have been suspected of carrying out murderous raids on the LeBaron family houses.  But, they also had their circle of friends too.  So they stayed, hoping the bad times would pass.

They owned cattle, and raised crops and were in most ways very self sufficient.  They believed in their religious mission that valued family, hard work, worship and outreach to spread the Gospel.  They were in all respects peaceful and loving people that would never harm anyone, but they also knew they were under constant threat by those that hated them for their success and perhaps their religion.

Today 9 of them, many of them children, are dead; all killed in a hail of gunfire.  This included twin babies.   They were caught, in what police would later describe as an ambush by members of a drug cartel.   (The LeBaron’s are shown on the left)

They were  slaughtered inside their two of their 3 SUV’s travelling in a convoy for protection.  The two lead SUV’s were riddled with bullet holes and bought to a halt, then the vehicles were set on fire.  The other SUV made a U-turn and evaded the gunfire.

Some of the family members speculated that it must have been a case of mistaken identity, however the deliberate execution style killings say otherwise.  3 mothers and their little children were dressed up and headed for a wedding in Chihuahua.  They didn’t look like cartel gangsters, they looked exactly what they were, a nice American family.

Several of the children from the first two vehicles escaped under fire and had to walk miles for help.   At this time, the media has been told there could be several more family members unaccounted for, but media reports are at best unreliable.

When President Trump heard about this murder he immediately called Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and offered military support to wage war on the drug cartel and “wipe them off the face of the earth.”

The Mexican President swiftly rejected this offer to send American troops over the border to “wage war” on drug cartels.  In his opinion, there was no need for American assistance or intervention and deemed the offer of military support to be irrational.

Once again, the facts of the matter would say different, that it is Obrador that is being irrational.  Thanks to drug cartels Mexico has that highest homicide rate in the world and is infested with drug lords battling each other over territory and American dollars.

2018 – Travel Advisories released last month by the U.S. State Department tell Americans not to set foot in five Mexican states — Sinaloa, Colima, Michoacan, Guerrero and Tamaulipas — because of violent crime.

State Dept. data said more Americans have been murdered in Mexico than the sum of American murders in the combined countries of the world.

Of the five Mexican states that the State Department tells Americans not to visit, one, Tamaulipas, borders the USA. It shares a 230-mile border with Texas, and murder, armed robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, extortion and sexual assault commonly occur, the State Department says.   President Trump warned about illegals crossing the border in the US, citing that drug smugglers, murderers and rapists were among the hoards crossing.  The democrats laughed at this called Trump a racist.

And now this unusual twist to the story:

A Family’s Legacy of Death : Ervil LeBaron said God told him to kill anyone who strayed from his polygamist cult. A tenacious Salt Lake investigator tracked the LeBarons for 15 years. Now, an anonymous tip may have helped him close a case that claimed as many as 30 lives.

Ervil LeBaron listened carefully when God told him to take many wives. He married 13. When God told him to have children, he had at least 50.

And, 20 years ago, when God told him to break away from his family’s polygamist sect, he founded his own church, tearing apart the once close-knit family.

That’s apparently when God told Ervil to start killing people, too, including his own kin.

Authorities say it was the start of a chilling family tradition that continues to reverberate today among his descendants and followers more than a decade after his death.

Solomon: The Biden-Ukraine Connection

By Pie Guevara

Thanks to Joe and Peggy for this tip.

Award winning investigative reporter John Solomon writes —

Hunter Biden and his Ukrainian gas firm colleagues had multiple contacts with the Obama State Department during the 2016 election cycle, including one just a month before Vice President Joe Biden forced Ukraine to fire the prosecutor investigating his son’s company for corruption, newly released memos show.

During that February 2016 contact, a U.S. representative for Burisma Holdings sought a meeting with Undersecretary of State Catherine A. Novelli to discuss ending the corruption allegations against the Ukrainian firm where Hunter Biden worked as a board member, according to memos obtained under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. (I filed that suit this summer with the help of the public interest law firm the Southeastern Legal Foundation.)

Just three weeks before Burisma’s overture to State, Ukrainian authorities raided the home of the oligarch who owned the gas firm and employed Hunter Biden, a signal the long-running corruption probe was escalating in the middle of the U.S. presidential election.

Hunter Biden’s name, in fact, was specifically invoked by the Burisma representative as a reason the State Department should help, according to a series of email exchanges among U.S. officials trying to arrange the meeting.

Bet You Didn’t Know About This. . .

Air Force’s Secretive Space Plane Touches Down After 2-Year Mission, yes
a two year MISSION!  We got a spaceship/plane that can fly into space, stay there for years and come back anytime we want it too.  Not only that, but once up there it can fly to new positions, it doesn’t need to stay in a fixed orbit.  Imagine…this thing can hop all over the place – who knows where it might turn up, certainly not the Chinese or Russians and that really makes them nervous.

Military.com | By Oriana Pawlyk

The Air Force‘s X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle is back on the ground after completing its latest record-breaking unmanned mission in space.

The experimental, clandestine space plane landed at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Sunday after more than two years in orbit, the service said in a release. This was the X-37B’s fifth space mission. Its last orbit ended in May 2017 after 718 days in space.

“The safe return of this spacecraft, after breaking its own endurance record, is the result of the innovative partnership between government and industry,” Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein said in a statement. “The sky is no longer the limit for the Air Force and, if Congress approves, the U.S. Space Force.”

This was the second time the X-37B landed has landed at the Kennedy Space Center Shuttle Landing Facility. It took off for its fifth mission on Sept. 7, 2017.

While its payloads and most of its activities are classified, the Air Force said at the time that the mission would carry “the Air Force Research Laboratory Advanced Structurally Embedded Thermal Spreader (ASETS-II) payload to test experimental electronics and oscillating heat pipe technologies in the long-duration space environment.”

The space plane “conducted on-orbit experiments for 780 days during its mission, recently breaking its own record by being in orbit for more than two years,” the release said. That brings the total number of days spent on-orbit for the X-37B to 2,865, officials said.

The last two missions have pushed the boundaries for a test vehicle, originally designed to spend up to 270 days circling the Earth.

What the X-37B does is literally a matter of rocket science. According to the service, the X-37B is exploring the practicalities and risks of “reusable space vehicle technologies” while also experimenting with space technology.

Under the purview of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office, the test vehicle can autonomously reenter the atmosphere and eventually land horizontally on a flight line.

“This program continues to push the envelope as the world’s only reusable space vehicle,” said Randy Walden, director of the Rapid Capabilities Office.

“With a successful landing today, the X-37B completed its longest flight to date and successfully completed all mission objectives. This mission successfully hosted Air Force Research Laboratory experiments, among others, as well as providing a ride for small satellites,” Walden said Sunday.

In July, the service’s former top civilian gave a glimpse into the space plane’s mission.

Speaking about space awareness and deterrence at the Aspen Security Forum, Heather Wilson described the vehicle as a “small version of the [NASA space] shuttle.”

It “can do an orbit that looks like an egg and, when it’s close to the Earth, it’s close enough to the atmosphere to turn where it is,” she said at the time.

“Which means our adversaries don’t know — and that happens on the far side of the Earth from our adversaries — where it’s going to come up next. And we know that that drives them nuts. And I’m really glad about that,” she added.

Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer and astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, told Military.com that Wilson’s comments on its movement may shed light on “a previously secret orbit-related capability,” and explained that the aircraft’s movement likely throws an adversary off, even if just for a short time.

“The dip into the atmosphere causes a change in the timing of when it next comes overhead. So [trackers’] predictions are off, and [they] have to search for it all over again,” McDowell said at the time.

The Air Force is preparing to launch the sixth X-37B mission from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, in 2020.

Trump Rally Live on Post Scripts Announcement

Whatever you may think of President Trump his rallies are fascinating. (Well, at least I find them fascinating, especially given current events.) I have been testing out a new idea for Post Scripts to host live events like this. So far it has been a flop. Here is my last try.

The concept and how it works —

  1. During the preliminaries of the live event on YouTube I will make a post that contains an embedded link to the live YouTube event.
  2. Open two browser tabs or browser windows.
  3. Use one tab or window to watch the live event via Post Scripts (or to watch directly on YouTube).
  4. Use the other Post Scripts blog post tab or window to submit comments about the rally and I will approve them live. When you refresh that tab or window you can follow and respond to live comments in Post Scripts without breaking the live video feed in the other tab or window.
  5. Of course if you can watch the rally live on cable TV then only one tab or window is needed.

In essence this will make the Post Scripts comment section a sort of live chat feed for the duration of the live event. I don’t really expect this to work, people have other things to do in the evening. I just wanted to give it a go.

TONIGHT: Trump rally in Lexington, KY Monday, November 04, 20197:00pm EST. Look for a Post Scripts post around that time. (4:00 pm PST)

At first this was to be a reply in the comments section but then I decided to elevate it to front page status because it is so exemplary of how some folks think. (Addendum: And shows just how ridiculous handling comments can be.) The actual commenter’s name has been changed for two reasons —

  1. I do not seek to embarrass the commenter publicly and discourage him/her/it/insert gender from posting comments.
  2. I do not wish to grant in a blog post the attention that he/she/it/insert gender is so desperate to get.

To this end I shall henceforth identify the comment contributor as Person X

(Please note that in the above I am sincerely trying to be inclusive of all genders . Post Scripts is nothing if not inclusive.)

The following is a copy and paste from Person X’s comment posted Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:47 pm under my Posts Scripts blog post “Watch Joe Biden Brag About Bribing Ukraine.”

Person X’s Comment In its Original Entirety —

You continue to selectively quote. The section you’re referring to says this:

The section titled “FIRST-HAND INFORMATION REQUIRED” said:

ICIG ICWSP Form 401, May 24, 2018: In order to find an urgent concern “credible,” the IC IG must be in possession of reliable, first-hand information.

In other words, first-hand information is not required for a whistleblower to make a report. It is required for the IG to consider a report credible.

You also have refused to admit you were wrong when you said the whistleblower only had “hearsay,” when in fact he had both firsthand and secondhand information.

In the following deconstruction of Person X’s comment post his comments will appear in bold except when it is for my own for emphasis.

Please also note that when I refer to Person X or anyone else in any of the once commonly accepted all gender inclusive pronouns I am only doing so for the sake of brevity and not assuming or assigning gender.  Please be so kind as to mentally substitute whatever gender pronouns you are comfortable with.

Person X: You continue to selectively quote.

That statement and what it implies is utter nonsense. When I selectively quote it is for the sake of brevity unlike Person X’s next bit of Ridiculese where Person X selectively quotes the document under examination (the old whistleblower form) to support his next assertion.

Person X: The section titled “FIRST-HAND INFORMATION REQUIRED” said:

ICIG ICWSP Form 401, May 24, 2018: In order to find an urgent concern “credible,” the IC IG must be in possession of reliable, first-hand information.

In other words, first-hand information is not required for a whistleblower to make a report. It is required for the IG to consider a report credible.

That interpretation is patently absurd. The pertinent parts of the old form with regard to first-hand knowledge are as follows —

IC IG ICWSP Form 401 Rev: 24MAY18
FIRST-HAND INFORMATION REQUIRED
In order to find an urgent concern “credible,” the IC IG must be in possession of reliable, first-hand information… If you think that wrongdoing took place, but can provide nothing more than second-hand or unsubstantiated assertions, IC IG will not be able to process the complaint or information for submission as an ICWPA. (Italic emphasis mine.)

Clearly the filer, unless he is as comprehension challenged as Person X, would know that his complaint would go nowhere without first-hand knowledge and be round filed. In other words, Person X, under the old policy it was incumbent upon the filer to have first-hand information. Otherwise his complaint would not be submitted as an ICWPA.

Post Scripts readers can examine the old form in its entirety here for themselves.

Person X: You also have refused to admit you were wrong when you said the whistleblower only had “hearsay,” when in fact he had both firsthand and secondhand information.

I have not “refused” anything and neither have I been “wrong.” Evidently Person X not only cannot understand the old complaint form’s instructions, he misinterprets what I stated in the blog post.

1) I have not and have never stated that the complainant only had “hearsay.” In my post I stated that it was “based on hearsay” not “based only on hearsay.” I have not made any statement whatsoever that the complaint form filed contains no first-hand knowledge.

2) Despite using the old form — which required that the complainant actually have first-hand knowledge — it has been widely reported that the complaint testimony submitted to the Democrats’ kangaroo court consists of hearsay.

For example — “The whistleblower didn’t have direct knowledge of the communications, an official briefed on the matter told CNN.”

Moreover the testimony has been characterized as hearsay by members of the legislature who are in a position to know.

3) The declassified complaint states: “I was not a direct witness to most of the events described.” (My emphasis.)

Nowhere have I read of anyone, in the media or in government, saying that the complaint contains any first-hand knowledge that is of any particular significance. Neither have I been able to find any first-hand knowledge of particular significance in the declassified transcript. Perhaps Person X has found some.

Of further interest: General counsel for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Jason Klitenic, has argued that the allegation does not meet the definition of “urgent concern.” Klitenic wrote Schiff on September 15, 2019 that based on consultations with the DOJ, “we determined that the allegations did not fall within the statutory definition of an ‘urgent concern’ and that the statute did not require the complaint to be transmitted to the intelligence committees.”

As a side note, in a reply to Peggy (Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 8:32 am) in the same comment thread under my Posts Scripts blog post “Watch Joe Biden Brag About Bribing Ukraine” I stated “The complainant used an old form that contained the instruction for the requirement of first hand knowledge and checked the box that he/she/it (or insert gender) did have first hand knowledge.”

My post stands as is. Person X can go pound sand.
