Every one who knows me, or has read my articles knows that I disagree with Darwin's theory of evolution. However, this post is not about the debate between evolution and creation. This post is about those individuals around the world who yield to the idea that natural selection could possibly be a fact by attempting to or actually succeeding in removing themselves from the human gene pool. Thus by their actions, they seem to ensure that the next generation will be less susceptible to being the last generation to live on what Carl Sagan called the "Pale Blue Dot", or better known as planet earth.

In this video you will see a very heavy
set young man jump into a frozen lake.

This video leaves one with many questions. First off I could not help but wonder why this guy decided it would be a great idea to jump off the dock and into a frozen pond. Then after he decided it would be a great idea, why would he have friends video him? I guess he really wanted the world to know how stupid he is. After watching the video, you will most likely agree with me that he was very lucky for a couple of reasons. First because he didn't slip on the ice in a way that would have resulted in him hitting the back of his head on that could have cracked his skull open. Secondly, if the water was deeper he could have came up under the ice where he would not have seen the hole made when he plunged into the pond and possibly drowned.  Finally, the guy is obviously out of shape, so he can thank the good Lord that he didn't have a heart attack when he broke through the ice and went below the surface in the cold water.

I enjoyed your discussion of the Darwin award concept, but I was really surprised that you expressed a disbelief in the concept of "natural selection" as a factor in evolution -- or perhaps you don't believe in evolution at all. Well, your choice, but since you express in the sidebar a willingness to discuss religion and politics, I thought I would see if you are willing to elaborate on your beliefs a little bit: Do you believe that God is incapable of producing a system that does not require his constant intervention? Or do you believe his intervention IS constant, and consistent -- or something in between or something other?

For example, take the instant video: Suppose this idiot DID crack his skull open due to his own stupidity (or some other personality defect, like a sense of invulnerability, or inability to visualize consequences, or whatever). Suppose he died as a result. If this occurred, then it is unlikely he would have produced any offspring after exercising his personality defect, isn't it? Therefore it is unlikely -- one would suggest impossible -- for him to pass on any genetic defects to his offspring, isn't it?

Since the above is obvious, and you must have considered such a train of events, perhaps you could explain to me how you reconcile the above set of facts with your disbelief in "natural selection."

(BTW, just so you know, I consider myself a Christian, and I feel I have a very close personal relationship with Christ, though that may be presumptive of me. He has, in my view, helped me out of some serious and potentially life-threatening situations, and He has nearly always responded to my prayers if I was praying for someone else. On the other hand, while I consider the Bible a great work, I reject some of its precepts as being indicative of the personal biases and demons of the patrons of the transcribers of the twelve or more different and conflicting translations.

Jerry,

I would very much like to elaborate, however I am at work right now and Fridays are very full for me as it is. So I suggest looking for my response as to my understanding of the ongoing creation of man.

For now allow me to offer you this bit to consider until I get a chance to give you a more indepth answer to your query.

I am a young earth creationist who believes in the infallibility of the Word of God. You can respond to what you think of that stance if you wish, and I will add my response to it along with a fuller explanation of why it is I believe what I do. My belief is more than just blind faith by the way. God gives us all the ability to debate and discuss our differences with those who disagree with us, as Paul did when he was invited to explain his Christian teachings to the Athenian philosophers at the Areopagus, as is documented in Acts 17:22-23.

Until later this evening,

Chuck

you are a christian? you could have fooled me (says one christian to another.) it might have been funny if the young guy were thin but i venture you think it's funnier because he is overweight. go ahead and post this video of a young guy embarassing himself. jesus would do that i am sure.

Trudy, Trudy, Trudy,,,

Where do I disparage the young man for being fat? Not once did I even use the word fat. I did say he was overweight, and if he was real skinny I would have pointed that out. I did say that, "the guy is obviously out of shape", but never fat. Am I to be blind about the obvious? If it bothers you then you need to look at the way you see things, because it is funny.

I posted the video, along with my comment because it was not only funny, but sad. Yes, it is real sad that someone would allow themselves to be videoed doing something that could have ended in tragedy. What the young man in the video did was stupid, and it is my prayer that he not only learns from his stupidity, but also decides to lose weight and get into shape.

Americans are the fattest people on the planet, and until we start looking at each other and being honest about that truth we will never get our fellow citizens to even consider losing weight. There, now you can get angry with me for using the word fat, but be careful because I think thou hath already protested too much, and that my dear Trudy is very telling, very telling indeed.

OK, Now as for evolution I disagree with the idea that God put us here and allowed the world to evolve. To begin with, it would have taken death and destruction before the fall of man for evolution to be true, and we know that God created man and the animals. I did not think God is incapable of anything, that is why I believe He did not use evolution to create man. My God is very, very big and very, very powerful. I will not diminish His power just so I can believe I came from a rock.

Now getting beyond all the talk of bones and rocks, let us get to the nuts and bolts of why we had to be created by an intelligent designer and not by some random act of mutative evolutionary accident. I will base my argument upon the fact that mutations are and always have been destructive to whatever the mutation is effecting. However, under the theory of evolution, even molecular evolution, we are supposed to believe that mutations are better than the original.

Most everyone readily admits that genetic diseases are catastrophic when you consider the damage done. Further, nearly every family is impacted by the tragedy of cancer, which is basically the result of mutations within our body cells. there is even growing evidence in the scientific community that aging is a direct result of mutations within the cells of our bodies. Fact is mutations inside our cells are killing each and every human and animal on the face of the planet. We can thank Adam and Eve for this, because before they rejected God they were perfect. Then God gave both man and woman a mutation in their cells that began to slowly destroy the body as time when on.

They of course passed down this mutation which is in us all. It is what the Bible refers to as death. God told them not to eat of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil or they will die. Well they failed to obey and ate of the fruit, so death entered the world. It must be understood that it was not the fruit so much as it was the command not to. God could have just as well said, "Do not swim in that pool of water", or "Do not touch that rock, any other rock you can touch as you wish, but do not touch that one". Eve was deceived, but Adam chose Eve over God, thus they rejected God's authority, and we have been trying to rule ourselves ever since. Albeit unsuccessfully. That sin nature we have is what is killing us all, and it is a mutation, because we were meant to live forever as perfect unblemished beings.

That is why Christ was needed. He was the perfect unblemished Lamb who took away that sin of death. The first Adam sinned and sold us into the slavery of sin. While the second Adam, Christ, lived a sinless life and thus gave His sinless life as a sin offering so that we may live forever as were were supposed to. So the mutation cell we received which kills us, can now be taken away by giving our lives to Christ. Through Christ's death we will not die the second and final death. That mutation cell (if you will) was modified by the death and resurrection of Christ. So we will still die the first death, but not the second. Those who do not accept the cure of Christ will eventually die the second death also. So you can see that mutations are not just bad in a biological sense, but mutations are bad in a spiritual sense also

. Getting back to biology, we know that nearly all health policies are aimed at reducing or at least minimizing any mutations in the body the moment they are detected by doctors. All in the name of making humans live a healthier, longer life without any risk of cancer or other degenerative disorders. So we know mutations are not good nor beneficial to life. Yet we are told that mutations in the cells are the driving factor from which evolution exists and thus man.

This is why evolutionary scientists claim, that according to the Primary Axiom, mutations are a good thing. After all, mutations create the variation and diversity which allow selection and evolution to occur. This then creates the information at the DNA Molecular level which was needed for life as we know it to evolve from the primordial pool of mud that was originally ignited by lightening. This action of electricity and mud began the original mutation process that gave many Christian evolutionists like yourself, the first words of what you believe the Bible should and would say if it weren't for ignorant men. "In the beginning, God created mud, and that mud became a troglodyte. After millions of years of death, destruction, and mutations with less information then the cell they came from, Adam was created and Ever."

Sorry, I do digress at times. So back to my explanation of what my understanding is of how life as we know it developed. You do realize that there are two types of variations when speaking of evolution. Whether that evolution be biological as in animal and human, or even mineral related such as cloths, toys, cars, houses, planes, etc. etc. etc. Those types are random variation and designed variation.

Random variation is the kind you will notice in your car as time passes. Things like rust, dings, engine wear, fading color, etc,. etc. etc. These type of changes in a car from the moment you bought it new until the time when you have owned it for some time. However, none of these changes in the vehicle has ever lead to the car being better then the day it rolled off the assembly line. Just like typographical errors cannot improve a students term paper, or throwing rocks at a glass house can improve it's value all these mutations have clearly taken way from the object being better then it was or could be. However, I remind you that evolutionist claim that something more complex like the human body is supposed to get better by removing parts or damaging it through time.

The second type of variation is designed variation. An example of designed variation would be like the day you purchase a car, you can buy it in various colors, different tires or wheel covers, or even a bigger engine sometimes. These different added features are helpful to the buyer depending upon his desired use or taste. Some designed variations could be useful later if added, like adding a different stereo, fixing a worn out tire, or even taking it to a body shop and having them turn a sedan into a convertible by cutting the roof off and adding a collapsible roof for enjoying the open air. These different designed variations are beneficial for sustaining the cars life, or improving it in a way that looks better, but there are limits to the improvements that can be added by design to the vehicle.

The kicker is that regardless of the variation whether it be random or designed, the car is still a car. You will never be able to transform the car into a jet engine, or a space craft, or a television. When considering the human gnome and the molecular biology, we know for a fact that the body cannot run properly without everything in place, or it will eventually crash due to the mutation that exists.

Part of the primary Axiom is that all genetic variations must come from random mutations, since no genetic variation by design is allowed in the evolutionists theory. However, now that we have entered into the era of genetic engineering, this axiom is not true any longer. Simply because many living organisms now contain genetic variations designed and engineered by man.

Perhaps this will open up your mind to the possibility that designed genetic variation, that may have proceeded man, existed with God. I do believe that He has the ability to design life forms that way they are today without any random chance for evolution by survival of the fittest which involves mutations through random variations, which we know can never make for a better biological being.

I do readily admit that a wolf can and has evolved withing the species to adapt to life as a pet for man. I know that men can move north and the bones of their descendants will eventually adapt to become thicker in order to hold in the heat. Likewise, if a man moves south, his descendants will eventually have thinner bones to be able to keep cooler in the heat. This is adaptation, not evolutionary movement from once species to another.

Finally, the overwhelming deleterious nature of mutations can be seen by the incredible scarcity of clear cases of information-creating mutations. It must be understood that scientists have a very sensitive and extensive network for detecting information-creating mutations, and most geneticists are diligently keeping their eyes open for them all the time, and this has been true for over a hundred years now. The sensitivity of this observational network is such that even if only one mutation out of a million unambiguously creates new information, that is apart from fine tuning. If they found it, the literature on that one find would be overflowing with reports of its happening. You must agree that the MSM would be going 24/7 about the find. they would be talking about it wall to wall as if the President himself was assassinated.

That being said, I am as convinced today as I was when I was 15 that they shall never ever find any mutations that have new genetic information which was nit present before it mutated. Truth is, every mutation ever found has been proved to have lost genetic information. Kind of like a car which lost its trunk lid. The car will still work, but I would not be packing anything in the trunk until that missing part was put back. I do agree that there have been mutations which have been described as being beneficial, but none of these as I said have ever had new information present that was not there before it mutated. Even if by its presence it was beneficial, it took the destruction of information to do so, kind of like taking the vinyl off the seats to cover the trunk which is missing a deck lid. It may work, but the car is even worse off for the fix because now the seats have no vinyl covering the cotton and springs.

So what do we have then. We have proof, thanks to the molecular genetic investigation of the human gnome, that the newest twist in the theory of evolution, the Primary Axiom, is just as wrong as the original theory put forth by Darwin himself. No matter how they try to prove the existence of evolution, they cannot get around the facts of genetics which screams of intelligent design.

I hope that made sense. Questions?

Sorry it took so long for me to respond, but your query required a proper in-depth response. I am also working this into a Sunday message for my blog, so I thank you for my Sunday Message.

About Me: I am a born again Christian who enjoys talking religion and politics. I have always believed that it is the Christian's obligation to understand the workings of our government as well as they do the precepts of God. Jesus tells us to be "wise as serpents and harmless as doves". (Mark 10:16) So it is with this understanding that I approach life. I was born in the Midwest, and while I may have grown up in Northern Minnesota, I have earned my degree in knowledge and understanding from the many regions of America and Europe that I have either lived in or visited as an adult.
