Chico Green Films and Solutions Series

A series of free thematic forums on solutions to environmental issues will be held at CSU, Chico for ten weeks up until the sustainability conference in November.

The first of the films will be shown on Thursday, August 27 and is entitled "Blue Gold." It explores how conflicting interests are vying for the world's dwindling supply of fresh water.

Ten films will be shown, followed by forum discussions about solutions to current environmental crises.

Solutions Forum speakers include Jim Brobeck, from the Butte Environmental Council, Ken Grossman, owner of Sierra Nevada Brewery, Sue Hilderbrand, Director of the Chico Peace & Justice Center, Andy Keller, founder of ChicoBag Co., John Merz, Director of the Sacramento River Preservation Trust, Steve Rodowick, Butte County Recycling Coordinator, Mark Stemen, CSU-Chico Sustainability Studies Coordinator, Liza Tedesco, General Manager of the Chico Natural Food Co-op, Toby McLeod and Gerard Ungerman, both documentary filmmakers.

Three of the scheduled films were produced by filmmaker and new Chico resident Gerard Ungerman (info at www.freewillprod.com).

7:30 pm on nine consecutive Thursdays from Aug. 27th to Oct. 29th and on Wednesday Nov. 4th.
"Transition to a Better Future" panel at CSUC Sustain. Conf. on Saturday Nov. 7th 11 am-12:15.
CSUC-Ayres 120 (BMU 210 on 11/4 & 7) - Note: due to CSUC closure, Oct. 15th is skipped.
